Sonya earned her B.S. in Psychology
from Georgia State University and her
M.A. in Professional Counseling from
Psychological Studies Institute.
Sonya enjoys working with children,
adolescents, individuals, singles,
divorcees, and families in regards
to various life issues. A particular
focus is depression, anxiety, bipolar
disorders, and ADHD where she helps
clients learning to deal with their
illness through various coping skills
as well as making changes and improvements
in their daily lives. Using a Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy approach, Sonya
uses interventions as well as other
psychotherapy approaches, building
therapy specifically for each client’s
situation. Utilizing her strong faith
in God, Sonya helps clients recognize
and use their faith as a basis for
positive change and growth. Sonya
feels called to this ministry and
feels privileged to come alongside
others. She has training and experience
facilitating Group Therapy sessions
which enable clients to relate and
learn from others.
